Bathroom Installation & Leak Repair for 2-Bed Terrace
We replaced a failing bathroom in a two-bed terrace for a letting agent. Our work included removing the old bath and tiles due to an irreparable leak, installing a new bath with waterproof tiling, fitting a glass shower screen, new taps, and a thermostatic shower.
Step 1 — Inspection & Quotation
An engineer visited the property to assess the leak, measure the space, and confirm that the bath and tiles had to be replaced. We provided a detailed, fixed-price quote based on those findings.
Step 2 — Scheduling & Materials
Once the quote was approved, we scheduled the work to fit the landlord’s timeline and sourced all plumbing materials from Express Plumbing Supplies, ensuring quality and availability.
Step 3 — Preparation & Protection
Before removing anything, we protected floors and surfaces throughout the home. The water supply was isolated and drained down to prevent further damage.
The Work
First, we set up waste-disposal arrangements and removed the old bath, tiles, and damaged pipework. In discovering that the floor substrate was rotten, we discussed replacement options with the letting agent and landlord, then proceeded to strip out the old floor.
Preparation
We cordoned off the bathroom, installed dust sheets, and double-checked our materials and tools to ensure a smooth workflow once demolition began.
Installation
- Removal & Drain-Down: Isolated and drained the water system, then removed the bath, tiles, and existing pipework.
- Floor Replacement & Waterproofing: Replaced the rotten floor substrate, applied waterproof membrane, and prepared walls and floors for tiling.
- Bath & Tile Installation: Fitted the new bath frame and panelling, laid waterproof tiles up to splash height, and sealed all joints.
- Fixtures & Fittings: Installed a glass shower screen, new taps, and a thermostatic shower valve, ensuring all connections were leak-tested.
Finishing Touches
We completed grout and sealant work, performed final leak and pressure checks, cleaned up all debris, and removed protective coverings.
The Results
Delivered on schedule and fully leak-free, the new bathroom met the letting agent’s requirements for tenant move-in.
The landlord was delighted with the quality finish, prompt turnaround, and reliable waterproofing.
